Ke$ha wears own placenta

Posted by TDI Bureau On March - 9 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Singer Ke$ha has revealed she wears her placenta round her neck to get a “second sight”.

The placenta helps a foetus in nutrient uptake and is expelled from the body after birth. And Ke$ha believes it enhances her chances of having a spiritual experience.

“I’m into energy. I recently went to see a past-life regressionist, who is also a psychic. I wear my placenta around my neck every day, because it’s supposed to give you second sight. I feel like I’ve had many lifetimes before,” the Age quoted her, as telling the Sunday Times.

The 23-year-old star also hit back at critics for labelling her as a party girl.

She said: “So many people say, ‘So, what, are you a party girl?’ And I say, ‘I’m a walking good time.’ Do I sometimes go out and drink? Hell, yes. But could I have a number one song if I wasn’t also working hard? Maybe that needs a little more respect.

“Also, the phrase ‘party girl’ implies someone who is out at a club, maybe doing some guy in the back who you’ve just met. Then you get in your car and you flash your vagina at the paparazzi. And I’m none of the above.

“I have been working on realising this dream, my path, my mission, for years. I’ve really invested a lot of thought, time and effort into it. I think it’s a bummer when people don’t epresent that properly, when they portray me as purely one-dimensional.”

Iraq war movie “The Hurt Locker,” took the Oscars by storm on Sunday winning six of the major film honours, including best movie and director for Kathryn Bigelow who became the first woman to win that honour.

The drama about a squad of bomb defusing specialists and the emotional toll war takes on them also secured writer Mark Boal the Academy Award for best original screenplay, and claimed honours for film editing, sound editing and mixing.

“Hurt Locker” and Bigelow won Oscars over stiff competition from her ex-husband James Cameron, whose sci-fi adventure “Avatar” is the top-grossing movie ever with $2.5 billion at box offices and was seen as a favourite for best movie.

“This really is, there’s no other way to describe it, it’s the moment of a lifetime,” Bigelow said.

“Avatar” earned 3 Oscars, but in technical categories — visual effects, cinematography and art direction.

Veteran Jeff Bridges claimed best actor playing a drunken country singer in drama “Crazy Heart.” The son of Hollywood star Lloyd Bridges held his trophy high over his head, looking to the heavens and thanking his deceased parents.

“Mom and Dad, yeah,” he shouted. “Thank you Mom and Dad for turning me on to such a groovy profession.”

Sandra Bullock was named best actress for “The Blind Side” in a first for the actress once dubbed “America’s Sweetheart” because she won so many early fans in her romantic comedies.

But for “The Blind Side,” she took the part of a real-life, strong-willed mother who helps take a homeless youth off the street and makes him into a football success.

“Did I really earn this, or did I just wear you all down?” she joked on Oscar’s stage.

Dark drama “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” earned two Oscars including supporting actress for Mo’Nique and adapted screenplay for writer Geoffrey Fletcher, who became the first African American to claim that honour.

Christoph Waltz won best supporting actor for his turn as a menacing Nazi officer in revenge fantasy “Inglourious Basterds,” which follows a band of American Jews killing their enemies behind lines during World War Two.

“Up” was named best animated movie, and Argentina’s “The Secret in Their Eyes” won best foreign language film.

Mariah Carey was booed by fans at a concert after she turned up for the performance a good hour late. The popstar was late for the final night of her ”Angels and Advocates” tour and had to apologise to the crowd who had paid upto USD 250 for the tickets.

Mariah swiftly apologised to the crowd, telling them she was ill, reported Sun online. “I”d like to apologise for my tardiness.

You probably won”t believe me, and they”ll probably make a big thing of it, ”Oh Mariah had to get her doctor in”, but I got sick yet again because it’’s winter, I didn”t think I could come out here tonight,” said the Grammy winning singer. “But I was very grateful I could get some sleep and we could pull it together.

It’’s not so glam at 6.30 in the morning when you”re coughing and sounding like a frog,” continued the 40-year-old. But the fan backlash, and the illness didn”t stop Carey from attending the after party where she popped champagne and danced with her group.

”Poker Face” hitmaker Lady Gaga says rude comments by an ex-boyfriend inspired her to make a name for herself in the music industry. The 23-year-old singer, best known for her kinky outfits and on-stage antics, feels that her determination stems from her ex’’s comments about her career.

“I had a boyfriend who told me I”d never succeed, never be nominated for a Grammy, never have a hit song, and that he hoped I”d fail. I said to him, ”Someday, when we”re not together, you won”t be able to order a cup of coffee at the deli without hearing or seeing me.

” ” Gaga has been a rage in music circles since she launched her career last year. As well as releasing several number one tracks, the singer, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has scooped numerous awards for her work, including a Grammy for her debut album ”The Fame” and another for her single ”Poker Face”.

being told I didn”t fit the mold and that I was ”too pop” or ”too theater”.

I”ve always been delusionally ambitious to the point where people don”t understand me.”

The ”I Kissed A Girl” hitmaker, who is known for her skimpy stage outfits doesn”t need to work hard to maintain her figure, but thinks she will be more prone to putting on weight as she gets older, Contactmusic reported.

“I don”t feel pressure, no, as I know I”m kind of voluptuous and I”ve always been that way. Saying that, I”m young and metabolism is on my side and my schedule is so crazy that I lose weight from the intensity of it.

But if you ask me that question in five or six years and I”ll probably have a different answer for you,” Perry said. However, the 25-year-old singer, who is engaged to British comedian Russell Brand is continuously told to go for a healthy diet by her older sister.

“My sister makes me watch what I eat. She’’s a pescatarian, a vegetarian who eats fish, and she’’s lost so much weight from being that.

She”ll scream at me if some of the crew on my tour get hot pizza for a snack and I want some. Sometimes I can grab a slice, but if my sister sees me, I get a verbal lashing! I eat secretly in the corner – my one pepperoni slice,” Perry said.

gaga bLady Gaga says she was saved from cocaine addiction by the spirit of her aunt who has a huge influence on her career.

The ‘Paparazzi’ singer says she used to lock herself in her bedroom and snort ‘bags and bags’ of cocaine for songwriting inspiration when she was starting out. But realised she was jeopardising her life and recalled unfinished job of her aunt Joanne who died at 19, reported femalefirst.co.uk.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, said: ‘I thought I was going to die. I wanted to be the artists I loved, like Mick Jagger and Andy Warhol… I thought the only way to do it was to live the lifestyle. My cocaine soundtrack was always The Cure. I would lock myself in my room and listen to ‘Never Enough’ on repeat while I did bags and bags of cocaine.’

‘But then I realised my father’s sister Joanne, who died at 19, had instilled her spirit in me. She was a painter and a poet – and I had a spiritual vision I had to finish her business.’
